Math - 6th, 7th and 8th grade
8th grade: We will complete ITBS on Tuesday, complete 2.1 and start 2.2 on Wednesday. A quiz over sections 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4 will be done on Monday, October 5. Study over the weekend!!
7th grade: We will complete section 2.3, the start section 2.2 on Wednesday. There will be a quiz over sections 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3 on Thursday.
6th grade: We will start Chapter 3 on Wednesday. This is a short chapter, again, and a chapter test will be the next week.
I have asked that all middle school students have their own scientific calculators to use in class and for the state tests in March. Scientific calculators can be found at most stores (Wal-mart, Target, Office Depot, etc) and the cost is approximately $6 to $9. I will mark their names on them at school.
I also gave the students this week a "learning pyramid" to keep in their math 3-ring binder. It is important for the students to know that "doing" in math, rather just "listening" will help them retain 70% more information.
Lastly, I will be staying after school on Thursday's (until 4:15 p.m) for any student that would like additional math help or to make up a missed quiz or test . They do not need to make special arrangements with me for this, just come to my room directly at 3:15.
