Barbara Reynolds

Hi, Parents and interested parties.  My name is Mrs. Barbara Reynolds.  I teach Grades 6-8 Social Studies and have an 8th Grade homeroom at Resurrection Catholic School.  Here is a short bio:
Born into a family of 10 in Omaha, Nebraska, I attended Catholic grade an high school.  We had a strong parish tradition at St. Cecilia's Cathedral.  After graduating in 1971, I went to Creighton University where my major was history.  Upon receiving my BA degree, I taught history at Holy Cross Elementary for 5 years.
Marriage brought me to Kansas City and St. John the Baptist School for 2 years.  After giving birth to our daughter, I accepted a teaching position at All Saints.  This I did for 22 years.
Now I am beginning a second year of teaching at Resurrection Catholic School.  The Class of 2009 has already begun an exciting year.  This new year has already seen the creation of a  Student Council which will lead special school and service activities for RCS.
2008 is also a presidential election year.  As your child's Social Studies teacher, I look forward to teaching about our democratic process.  I encourage your child to read the news, watch television, and be aware of what issues are being discussed during the election.
We are blessed to be around God's gift of children, eager for knowledge in the upcoming months at Resurrection Catholic School.
